Maize gluten also known as corn gluten is rich in protein with high nutrient density. It consists of insoluble protein with minimal quantity of starch and starch fibers Corn gluten is a co product of the wet milling industry. A simplified overview of the milling process begins with separation of the corn grain. After removal of any foreign material, corn kernels are soaked in water and sulfur dioxide to swell the kernels. In the soaking (or steeping) process, nutrients migrate into the water (steep liquor). When the steeping is complete, this liquor is drawn off and concentrated.

It contains ME 4131 K Cal/Kg. and is highly digestible and popularly used for poultry feed. It is rich source of carotene and xanthophyll.
